What we do

MOLD [minorities' opportunity to learn design] is a design learning system created while at the University of Houston in 2019. Today, MOLD is a registered non-profit working in Texas with the University of Houston to generate interest in design with children in nearby minoritized communities.

Originally developed by Ark Creative Company, For The Culture was the first mobile form of charades to focus on African-American culture and has amassed over 300,000 downloads worldwide.

From November 2019 to January 2020, I had the privilege of working with Houston-based entrepreneur Latina King. From a new logo mark and website. After more than fifteen years of working in education, Mrs. King has a huge reputation. The SHI Women brand was created to convey the dynamism of a company that focuses on the growth and development of women from all backgrounds.

I was blessed with the opportunity to be the Student Service Designer for Lone Star College down in Houston, Tx.

HRDCVR is a hardcover culture magazine co-founded after a successful Kickstarter campaign by the iconic journalism couple Danyel Smith (ESPN's The Undefeated, Billboard, Vibe) and Elliott Wilson (Rap Radar, XXL, Egotrip). HRDCVR is by and for the new everyone and is a beautifully designed print experience covering topics from the Obama sisters to gentrification, music festivals, politics, and more. Our first and only issue was published in October 2015.

I was lucky enough to be asked by Premium Goods to create the new designs for their website, social media, and merchandise for the brand.

In my first graduate studio, my studio mates and I were tasked with ideating a list of design disciplines and other cultural needs. Then we were randomly assigned a topic from each list. For me, the design discipline chosen was VR/AR, and the culture need assigned was fashion sustainability. It was up to me to develop a product that used AR/VR; MODU was the outcome.

Working in collaboration with our colleges from the UH Architecture department, I was charged with helping create products for their City of Refugees exhibit that will take place in 2020. We focused on creating a system that would allow for the refugees to make an easy transition into their prospective city and elevate their hierarchy of needs as they grew more comfortable within the city.

I'm blessed to be able to work with Kicking It, a black-owned sneaker boutique in the heart of Austin's Domain. Together we've created several apparel designs for the shop, included special event shirts for Marquise Goodwin, Vince Young, and Sonya Richards-Ross.
